Maria actor & wife arrested over allegations of child cruelty & torture

Former Mr Kenya and Maria actor Robert 'Khula' Budi and his wife were arrested by DCI police at Milimani High Court yesterday 30th November for allegedly or allegedly beating, assaulting and injuring their 7 -year-old toddler at Karen Plains in Langata.

The actor, together with his wife Wendy Kimingi, were arrested on criminal allegations of cruelty and torture to their daughter.

According to court documents, the pair allegedly mistreated their daughter on many instances by slapping her and pinching her hands, knees, and thighs.

Following the arrest, the former beauty pageant winner and his wife are facing a charge of being cruel to a child contrary to Section 25 of the Children Act number 29 of 2022.

According to the police, the couple is accused of subjecting their child to cruelty on different dates between October 22, 2022, and February 10, 2023, at an unknown time within Karen Plains in Lang'ata sub-county in Nairobi.

Budi and his wife were arrested outside Milimani Law Courts where they had appeared for another case hearing.
