Sure, we have mixed feelings about summer fading like the setting sun—but considering the best fall 2024 fashion trends are essentially a reset button for our closets, we can’t wait to get a jump on a new season. If your wardrobe is also starting to feel a bit tired, you’re in luck: Autumn’s runways are bringing plenty of fresh inspiration.

So what will we wear this year? Boho is back in the conversation after a stellar Chloé show that made fringe, fur, and wedge heels look better than ever.

Preppy, heritage-inspired style—a cousin to boho—is also very much in, with brands like Burberry, Schiaparelli, Miu Miu, and Bally showing plaid coats, lived-in denim, and sharp blazers.

On the accessories front, we spotted tall, structured boots at Prada, Chanel, and Gucci (as well as on Zendaya); minimalist ballet flats and classic T-bar shoes are also gaining steam for fall, courtesy of Bottega Veneta and Ferragamo.

1. Country house chic

Fall’s most alluring trend (at least in the eyes of the Glamour style team) is a confluence of plaids, relaxed layers, and long skirts. It’s dressing like you decamp to a country house, preferably one in the English countryside, every autumn. Expect traditional markers of heritage style—waxed jackets, checked coats, full skirts, knee-high wellies, tailored blazers—to reign supreme this fall, especially on days when rain is in the forecast.
